Although no major biography of Princess Mary, the Princess Royal, has been written, material about her life and her personality can be found in biographies of her brothers: Edweard VIII, George VI, the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Gloucester. Her elder son, the Earl of Harewood, wrote his memoirs, Tongs and Bones (Weidenfeld & Nicolson: 1981)
In the 1920s, the princess was the subject of two hagiographies, including Princess Mary Viscountess Lascelles (Hutchinson: 1929), which was written by Evelyn Graham. The subtitle of this book is the "Intimate and Authoritative Life storu of only Daughter of Their Majesties the King and Queen by One Who had Special Facilities and Published with the Approval of Her Royal Highness."
